Farming Industry

If you’re a farmer or in the agricultural industry and you’ve been asked to provide an odour, ammonia, dust or ‘SCAIL’ assessment to support your planning or permit application please get in touch as soon as possible. We are trusted by the Environment Agency, NRW, Natural England, SEPA and Local Authorities nationwide to provide the modelling and reports needed to support your application.

Air Quality

Assessment of air quality impacts is often required for planning permission or permitting applications for the construction, demolition and expansion of buildings and infrastructure.
We can provide desk-based air quality assessments and site-based monitoring of pollutants.

Detailed Dispersion Modelling

We provide desk-based modelling and reporting of a variety of pollutants including odour, ammonia (NH3), nitrogen oxides (NOX), sulphur dioxide (SO2), particulate matter (PM10) and carbon monoxide (CO) using ADMS 6. We can also organise pollutant monitoring on site as needed.

Met Data

AS Modelling & Data Ltd. process and produce cost effective meteorological data from anywhere around the world, either in raw format or formatted for use in dispersion modelling software. We can also produce wind roses with or without analysis from a qualified meteorologist.

If you or your client are having issues with odour complaints or require an assessment of odour, ammonia or air quality for a planning or permitting application, our team can provide you with the expertise, modelling, monitoring data and reports as needed.

Pollutant Monitoring

If you need to monitor pollutants on site we can help facilitate this, analyse the data and produce the required reports. We can also input the data into our dispersion modelling.

Wide-ranging Expertise

Our expertise isn’t limited to agricultural installations (although it is probably what we are best known for!) we can model a wide range of pollutants (odour, ammonia, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, particulate matter, VOCs and carbon monoxide) from almost any source including manure storage, biomass boilers, CHPs, factories, industrial units, sewage treatment works, even zoos!

Planning Application Support

We can prepare air quality assessments to support planning applications and environmental permitting for almost any project big or small including review of relevant policies and guidance, evaluation of baseline air quality, assessment of construction and operational air quality impacts and identification of mitigation measures if required.

Dust Risk Assessment

We also provide standalone dust management plans and dust risk assessments for construction projects and commercial mineral sites following the IAQM guidance documents including recommended mitigation measures if required.

Weather Analysis

Whether you require observational meteorological data or need bespoke site specific GFS (Global Forecast System) data, we can provide quality assured data for anywhere in the world at an excellent price. Low overheads and the ability to source data in house means that we can produce met data in raw format or formatted ready to used in dispersion modelling software at very competitive prices starting from just £150 +VAT for one year with each additional year charged at £50 +VAT, we think that’s the best value on the market! If you need wind roses and weather analysis we can provide that too for an additional cost

Air Quality Recommendations

Our consultancy services have also included providing air quality review and recommendations on behalf of regulators, Local Authorities and utility companies. This has included technical review and assessment of the suitability of air quality assessments submitted in support of planning and permitting applications for construction projects including public service buildings, highway schemes, rail, mineral extraction and wastewater treatment works.
